Representation of age
The representation of age is shown through camera movements and fast editing. They show the teens messing around and speaking fast the camera has a cutaway to their feet then their hands then the older man. It shows tension building as the older man comes closer which implies his superiority. The fact that the teens are hiding things from the adult conveys a stereotypical representation of younger people. The stereotype being teenagers cause trouble, break things and can't take responsibility or face the consequences. This seen also reinforces that teens are subservient to authority and the people who usually have the most authority over them are adults. whilst the older gentleman doesn't conform to the stereotype of the weak man, denotations in the mise en scene reinforce other stereotypes of old men. For example what he was wearing was very formal however, looked worn out and old. He was balding and had grey hair and also grumpy and harsh, which confirms the stereotype of old people letting themselves go and not caring about opinions. They also represent age through sound, for instance the sound of the clicking of his fingers, which is conventionally rude and demeaning, however we see in a mid shot of the three that the two teens follow the implied instructions as they hand over the broken camera. The older gentleman has power and authority without using words. This also suggests the view and ideology that teens are predictable and always up to no good and the older you are the wiser. The fact he knew that they were hiding something with little dialogue and fast cuts suggest this. Also the woman who later enters the scene seems to inflict fear on the teens as it's her camera however, the older man undermines her with a snarky comment. They represent age through diegetic sound and slow dialogue, whilst the woman and teen's speech is rushed and fast the old man speaks slow and sarcastically as if to imply he is smarter. "you did take out insurance?" the old man asks as if it's common sense, his speech is disjointed and staggered, mocking the woman which shows he's superior to her.

Media convergence is a term that can refer to either: the merging of previously distinct media technologies and media forms resulting from digitisation and computer networking.
Eg, Disney: they have disney life, Magazines, toys, disney shops, costumes etc all the money stays in house
A media conglomerate, media group or media institution is a company that owns large numbers of companies in various mass media such as television, radio, publishing, movies, and the Internet.Media conglomerates strive for policies that facilitate their control of the markets across the globe.
Media synergy is the way in which different elements of a media conglomerate work together to promote linked products across different media.
Smaller independent companies can't do everything so they horizontally integrate- can't distribute.

The walt disney company is an American multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate, it is the world's second largest media conglomerate in terms of revenue, after Comcast. They are famous for animations and movies. Also large theme parks, disneyland and disneyworld.
Disney underestimated how popular frozen would be, with merchandise selling out in minutes worldwide. For stock control stores would limit the amount of merchandise customers could buy in one transaction. This could also be seen as a marketing technique and a new form of psychological promoting. When you people cant get what they want, they want it more, thats human nature. The restrictions evokes attention and perceived scarcity for media hype.
Anna and Elsa can also be seen on products that have nothing to do with the film, eg cereal boxes and teenage fashion craze loom bands.
Frozen is universal as it focuses on sibling love rather romance so it can appeal to many, which contributes to the success, more parents will want their children watching due to the message.
"Let it go" sold 10.9 million copies in 2014 becoming the years fifth best selling song It currently has 1,034,829,586 views on youtube. People still consume these media products 4 years later. Also there is a musical in broadway which would have brought more money to disney.
it was released on DVD/Blu Ray 31st of March 2014 the film sold 1.45 million units by the end of of the first three weeks. Was the best selling of 2014.
Get Out, a movie that’s billing itself as a socially conscious thriller. The U.S. poster is meant to create a sense of mystery and disorientation. It uses the look of a shattered piece of glass, with different parts of the story presented in each fragment.

Margret - Gender representation
In this extract one of the ways they show gender representation is through camera movement. The use of long zooms are used to create tension and awkwardness in parts where the woman, Margret feels undermined, ridiculed or outnumbered. For example as the man was speaking there seemed to be an increasing zoom on Margret suggesting the pressure the man is putting on her. The fact that other men were laughing and Margret remained stern faced conveys what the traditional man may truly think about an unconventional woman of power and suggests that it's hard for woman to not conform to gender roles. The scene is dominated by traditional men and the only female dennoted is Margret which falls under the gender stereotype of the lesbian woman as, she has control and authority and traits of a man however is still a woman. For example, when the camera was looking at a downwards angle at her feet, the mise en scene were her heels and she was walking quite fast which connotes purpose. Then when the camera turns into a slanted mid shot we could see other men following her which connotes leadership and power which is unconventional for a woman. Then we later see signs that she 'hates men' from the dialouge in the other room when all the men were discussing what just happened and she doesn't seem to care about their thoughts or act friendly, gentle, light and easy towards them, which are typical conventions of a woman, however she interrupts them shouting, passionately and aggressively explicitly offended and in conflict with the first traditional man that was speaking earlier.
On the other hand it could be argued that she also bares a gender role of the traditional woman as we see a quick cutaway to her hands clenching or fidgeting, which not only connotes anger and tension but the mise en scene dennoted 2 expencive rings on her marriage finger which suggests that shes a wife or soon to be married which conveys a stereotypical role of a woman to get married and have children

Game of thrones - Gender Representation

- · Traditional feminine woman – often shown as being girly, likes pink, wears dresses, does feminine jobs such as working in fashion, hairdressing or stays at home to look after the children, needs a man to cope, weak, scared of things, needs rescuing, pure and innocent
- · Sexy woman – very flirty, dresses in a revealing way, more powerful than traditional women, uses men to get what she wants, no loyalty to other women, bitchy
- · Lesbian Woman – Often shown as dressing in a masculine fashion, doing masculine roles, hating men, looking masculine
She has elements of all the female stereotypes as she is very pretty and looks feminine however is very unconventional as she is shown to have a lot of power and authority.
The camera is at low angles, looking up to the woman to connote her dominance and her role in this drama, she isn't shown as gentle and isn't denoted as smiling throughout the scene. She holds a weapon however doesn't use it, she is shown to get her way purely from using her words.
She could be seen as the traditional woman as her aesthetics are very feminine, the mise en scene is her wearing a loose blue dress with a cape and her hair is blonde, long, curled and done up. Blue holds connotations of masculinity and is considered as a man's colour and pink being the binary opposite however dresses are typically feminine. In addition there is a big stereotype of blonde hair being, girly, ditsy, dumb as suggested by the common phrase "dumb blonde" but Daenarys is completely unconventional Though her femininity is not lost as her hair is styled and pretty. She shows traits of the stereotypical lesbian which is doing masculine roles and hating men. The man is shown calling her a "bitch" which is derogatory as women can typically be seen as bitchy, weak and sensitive and after that she starts to show her power and reveal her abilities. She has an all man army and is looked at by them from a low camera angle, when she commands them they follow. The directors present her as holding this power easily and not having to try to hard for them to be controlled by her.
